Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources of the participants. Sportsbooks set lines to balance risk and ensure profit, while prediction markets reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders. This can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, especially when a significant amount of information isn't yet publicly available. It's common to see discrepancies, as sportsbooks may react slower to new information or have biases based on public perception. Examining these differences can provide valuable insights.
