This event group covers a single NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) regular season game between the Saitama Seibu Lions and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters scheduled for June 27, 2026 at 5:00 AM EDT. Markets on both Kalshi and Polymarket are betting on the outcome of this matchup.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for June 27 at 5:00AM ET: If the Saitama Seibu Lions win, the market will resolve to "Saitama Seibu Lions". If the Nippon Ham Fighters win, the market will resolve to "Nippon Ham Fighters". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50.
Resolution is based on the final result of the game originally scheduled for Jun 27, 2026 at 5:00 AM EDT. Should the game be cancelled or rescheduled beyond two days, markets resolve to a fair price per official rules. Tied games resolve to 50/50.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates its own order book and attracts distinct trader demographics, funding sources, and risk appetites. Kalshi and Polymarket may have different fee structures, user interfaces, and settlement rules that influence how traders price the same outcome. Arbitrage opportunities arise when one platform's odds drift ahead of the other; however, transaction costs and withdrawal delays can prevent instant convergence. Temporary price gaps often close within hours as sophisticated traders exploit the spread, but during low-liquidity periods or major news events, divergence can persist and widen.
Key catalysts include injury announcements to star players, lineup changes, weather forecasts, and recent team performance trends. Trades or roster moves in the days before the game can shift market sentiment significantly. Public betting action and sharp money positioning often trigger repricing as informed traders adjust their positions. Media coverage, expert predictions, and social sentiment can amplify moves, especially if a consensus favorite faces unexpected doubt. Real-time updates during warm-ups and pre-game activities may also influence late trading, so active traders monitor news feeds closely leading up to game time.
