This group forecasts which team will score the first goal in a soccer match between Sacramento Republic FC and Detroit City FC. The markets consider regular play plus stoppage time, excluding extra time or penalty shootouts. Resolution relies on official match statistics, with fallback sources if official data is unavailable.
In the upcoming match between Sacramento Republic FC and Detroit City FC, scheduled for September 12, 2026 at 10:00 PM ET: This market will resolve to "Sacramento Republic FC" if Sacramento Republic FC are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Detroit City FC" if Detroit City FC are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.
The event evaluates multiple markets based on the number of field goals scored by each team in the New Orleans vs Detroit Pro Football game scheduled for September 13, 2026. Each market corresponds to a specific threshold of field goals for either team (e.g., 1+, 2+, 3+, or 4+). If the named team achieves the specified number of field goals or more, that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Postponements are handled such that if the game starts within 48 hours of its original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within this window, the market resolves to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants under varying scheduling circumstances.
Prediction market odds, like those found for this market, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while prediction markets allow anyone to express their belief about the outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly diverges from expert opinion. While not always the case, prediction markets sometimes provide more accurate forecasts than traditional betting venues, as they aggregate a wider range of information and incentives.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base, trading fees, and liquidity, which can influence price discovery. Differences in the types of traders participating on each platform – for example, more sophisticated or casual bettors – can also contribute to price discrepancies. Furthermore, the volume traded on each platform impacts price sensitivity; a larger volume on one venue may lead to a more stable and accurate price, while lower volume could result in greater volatility. These factors can create differing probabilities for the same event.
