Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets benefit from the 'wisdom of the crowd,' continuously adjusting based on new information and diverse opinions. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, reflecting differing assessments of the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each exact score. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the aggregated predictions of all participants, providing a real-time assessment of the potential result of the Sacramento Republic vs Detroit City match. The market’s efficiency depends on active trading and informed participants.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Sacramento Republic vs Detroit City match, as determined by official league sources, will be used to determine the winning outcome in this market. Any potential protests or appeals must be fully resolved before the outcome is finalized. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and based on objective data, ensuring a fair and accurate settlement for all traders participating in this market.
