PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's win condition is broader than Polymarket and Predict, creating a market on *a* winner rather than *which* winner.Hero tip: Focus trading on Polymarket or Predict for a traditional Sabres vs. Red Wings winner market. Kalshi's market is effectively a 'will there be a winner?' market.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Resolves to the winning team (Sabres or Red Wings) based on final score, including overtime/shootout. "If the Sabres win, the market will resolve to 'Sabres'. If the Red Wings win, the market will resolve to 'Red Wings'."
  • Kalshi: Resolves to 'Yes' if either Buffalo or Detroit wins. "If Buffalo wins the Buffalo vs Detroit NHL game originally scheduled for Sep 24, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes. If Detroit wins the Buffalo vs Detroit NHL game originally scheduled for Sep 24, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes."
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect a different kind of information than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while prediction markets are driven by individuals betting their own capital based on their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies; prediction markets may be more sensitive to insider information or shifts in public opinion. While sportsbooks often focus on implied probabilities based on team statistics, this market allows for a broader range of factors to influence pricing, potentially offering a more accurate forecast.
