This market tracks which song will rank as the second-most streamed track on Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart for June 20, 2026. The resolution depends on Spotify's official chart rankings on that specific date.
The market resolves to Yes if any of the specified songs achieves the #2 position on Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart for the chart dated June 20, 2026. The eligible songs are: stupid song, the cure, Choosin' Texas, honeybee, drop dead, hate that i made you love me, maggots for brains, expectations, Earrings, my way, begged, what's wrong with me, u + me = <3, less, or Janice STFU. Resolution is based solely on Spotify's official Daily Top Songs USA chart for that date. If none of these songs ranks at #2, or if the chart data is unavailable, the market resolves to No. This market is not endorsed by Spotify and references to Spotify charts are descriptive only.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-time trader conviction rather than relying on static models or expert opinion. In this market, the implied probability reflects thousands of individual bets, capturing shifting streaming trends, playlist placements, and cultural momentum that analysts may lag in recognizing. Analysts typically publish periodic reports on chart trajectories, while prediction markets update continuously. When this market's odds differ significantly from analyst predictions, it often signals that traders are pricing in emerging data—such as viral moments or algorithmic promotion—that formal forecasts have not yet incorporated.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares corresponding to each potential runner-up song outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief in that song's likelihood of finishing second on the Spotify USA chart. As new information surfaces—chart updates, streaming milestones, or playlist changes—traders adjust their orders, and the market price shifts to reflect revised probabilities. Tighter spreads indicate higher confidence and liquidity, while wider spreads suggest uncertainty or lower trading activity around a particular outcome.
This market resolves around Jun 21, 2026, once the Spotify USA chart data for that date becomes publicly available and verifiable. The outcome is determined by identifying which song ranks as the runner-up—the second-place track on Spotify's official top songs chart for the United States. Resolution is confirmed through credible public reporting of the final chart standings. Traders should monitor official Spotify announcements and music industry tracking services in the days leading up to and following the resolution date to ensure clarity on the final ranking.
Major streaming surges, viral social media moments, and playlist placements on Spotify's editorial and algorithmic playlists can significantly shift odds in this market. Celebrity endorsements, award show performances, or unexpected chart debuts by competing songs may reshape trader expectations about which track finishes second. Radio airplay, TikTok trends, and international chart performance often correlate with US Spotify momentum and can trigger repricing. Additionally, surprise releases or remix drops from established artists could disrupt the current runner-up positioning. Traders should track streaming data, playlist additions, and entertainment news closely as catalysts that could move the market substantially before resolution.
