This market tracks which song will rank as the second-most streamed track on Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart for June 19, 2026. The resolution depends on identifying which of the specified songs achieves the #2 position on that specific date.
The market resolves to Yes if any one of the following songs achieves the #2 position on Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart for the chart dated June 19, 2026: stupid song, the cure, Choosin' Texas, honeybee, drop dead, hate that i made you love me, maggots for brains, expectations, Earrings, my way, begged, what's wrong with me, u + me = <3, less, or Janice STFU. Resolution is based solely on the official Spotify Daily Top Songs USA chart for that date. If none of these songs rank #2, or if multiple songs from this list rank #2 simultaneously (which would be impossible given chart mechanics), the market resolves to No. This market is not endorsed by Spotify and references to Spotify charts are descriptive only.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional music industry analyst forecasts because they incorporate real-time trader behavior, streaming data, and emerging cultural signals. While music analysts rely on historical chart patterns and industry relationships, this market aggregates the distributed knowledge of traders responding to new releases, playlist placements, and listener engagement metrics. Prediction markets typically react faster to breaking news—such as surprise album drops or viral moments—than published analyst reports. Over time, markets that attract substantial participation tend to outperform static forecasts, though both approaches offer valuable perspectives on which song will occupy the runner-up position.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share reflects the implied probability of that song finishing as the runner-up, with prices ranging from near zero to near one dollar. As new information emerges—chart updates, streaming surges, or competing releases—traders adjust their positions, moving prices in real time. The spread between bid and ask prices tightens as more volume flows into the market, rewarding early information and punishing stale positions.
This market resolves around Jun 20, 2026, once the outcome is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution hinges on identifying which song held the second-highest streaming count in the United States on that specific date. Official Spotify data, music industry tracking services, and major news outlets will confirm the runner-up track. Traders should monitor Spotify's own announcements and third-party chart trackers in the days leading up to resolution to assess which songs are competing for the top two positions.
Major catalog releases from top artists, surprise album drops, and viral social-media moments can rapidly shift streaming patterns and reshape this market's odds. Chart performance in other regions often precedes US trends, offering early signals. Playlist placements on Spotify's flagship editorial playlists—particularly Today's Top Hits—drive substantial volume and can propel a song toward the runner-up slot. Award show performances, celebrity endorsements, and streaming bundles tied to other media releases also influence listener behavior. Traders should watch for unexpected competition from established artists and monitor real-time streaming data as the resolution date approaches.
