This market tracks which song will rank as the second-most streamed track on Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart for June 18, 2026. The resolution depends on identifying the runner-up song on that specific date's chart.
The market resolves to Yes if any of the specified songs achieves the #2 position on Spotify's Daily Top Songs USA chart for the chart dated June 18, 2026. The eligible songs are: stupid song, the cure, honeybee, drop dead, Choosin' Texas, maggots for brains, my way, hate that i made you love me, expectations, what's wrong with me, begged, u + me = <3, less, Earrings, or Janice STFU. Resolution is determined by the official Spotify Daily Top Songs USA chart for that date. If none of these songs occupy the #2 position, the market resolves to No. This market is not endorsed by Spotify and references to Spotify charts are descriptive only.
Prediction market odds on this market reflect real-money bets from traders and often diverge meaningfully from traditional music industry analyst forecasts. While music publications and streaming platforms publish their own chart predictions and trend analyses, the market aggregates dispersed knowledge from thousands of participants with direct financial incentive to forecast accurately. Analysts may rely on historical chart patterns and industry relationships, whereas traders incorporate breaking news, social media momentum, and emerging artist collaborations in near-real time. Comparing the implied probability of the frontrunner here against published expert predictions can reveal where consensus differs and where edge opportunities may exist.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous limit-order book where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome is represented as a separate contract, and the price of each contract reflects the collective belief in that outcome's likelihood, ranging from near-zero to near-100 cents per share. Traders profit by correctly predicting which song will be the runner-up on the specified date; those who buy low and sell high—or sell high and buy back lower—capture the spread. Kalshi's matching engine ensures transparent price discovery and tight spreads during active trading windows.
This market resolves around Jun 19, 2026, once Spotify's official USA streaming charts for June 18, 2026 are published and verified. The outcome is determined by identifying which song holds the second-highest position on the platform's daily or weekly ranking for that date. Resolution is confirmed once the result is verifiable from credible public sources, including Spotify's official announcements or widely reported music industry data. Early resolution may occur if Spotify releases preliminary or official rankings before the end date; traders are notified of any changes to the resolution timeline.
Major catalog releases, surprise album drops, and viral social-media moments can shift streaming patterns dramatically and move odds in this market. Chart performance of competing artists, radio play increases, and playlist placements on Spotify's editorial and algorithmic playlists all influence daily stream counts. Celebrity endorsements, award-show performances, and trending TikTok sounds can accelerate momentum for specific tracks. Additionally, streaming anomalies—such as coordinated fan campaigns or playlist manipulation—may trigger sudden repricing. Traders monitor music news outlets, Spotify's official announcements, and real-time streaming data to anticipate shifts in the runner-up position before the market settles.
