Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a margin, while prediction markets aggregate beliefs from traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market may show different probabilities than traditional sportsbooks for the same exact score, particularly for less obvious scorelines. Comparing the two can reveal where traders see value or where consensus differs, though both ultimately aim to reflect the true likelihood of each possible result.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling shares of each exact score outcome, with the current market price reflecting the collective assessment of all active participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The most heavily traded scorelines typically show tighter spreads and higher liquidity, while less common results may have wider bid-ask gaps. As match day approaches or new developments emerge, prices adjust dynamically based on fresh trading activity and evolving expectations about how the game will unfold.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the match concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at the end of regular time, with the market settling to whichever score option matches the official result. Traders holding shares in the correct exact score receive their payout, while all other positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle.
Team news such as injury announcements, lineup confirmations, or tactical changes can shift probabilities significantly, as can recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions on match day. Betting market movements and expert predictions may also influence trader sentiment. As kickoff approaches, late-breaking developments—such as a key player being ruled out or unexpected team news—often trigger sharp repricing. During the match itself, early goals or red cards will cause dramatic swings in the odds for remaining possible scorelines.
