This market tracks the outcome of the second set in the professional tennis match between Roberto Bautista Agut and Joao Fonseca at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 128 on June 29. The winner of set 2 will determine the market resolution.
The market resolves based on which player wins set 2 in the Bautista Agut vs Fonseca match at 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 128. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are settled at fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance action and protect their margin, while prediction markets like this one are driven purely by trader belief and capital allocation. Prediction markets frequently incorporate real-time information and can adjust faster than traditional sportsbooks, especially for niche events like individual set outcomes. Comparing this market's odds to major sportsbooks can reveal whether traders are pricing the set winner differently than professional oddsmakers, offering insight into where consensus may be shifting.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit buy and sell orders at their chosen probabilities. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the last executed trade, and the spread between bid and ask prices indicates liquidity and consensus tightness. As more traders participate, prices converge toward an equilibrium that represents the collective assessment of the set winner's likelihood. Wider spreads suggest uncertainty or lower participation, while tight spreads indicate strong agreement among market participants.
This market resolves around Jun 29, 2026, once the second set of the match concludes. The outcome is determined by verified reporting of the official match result. Resolution depends on the set being completed and the winner confirmed through credible public sources covering professional tennis. Early resolution may occur if the match is abandoned or the set is awarded by tournament officials, but standard resolution follows the completion of play.
Several factors could shift trader sentiment before resolution. Recent form and head-to-head records between Bautista Agut and Fonseca may influence expectations, as could injury reports or surface conditions on match day. First-set results often carry predictive weight for subsequent sets, so the outcome of Set 1 could trigger significant repricing. Real-time match momentum—break points, service holds, and tactical adjustments—will drive trading activity once play begins. News about player fitness, weather delays, or other tournament developments can also move prices as traders update their probability estimates.
