This market tracks the outcome of the second set in a professional tennis match between Rinky Hijikata and Jiri Lehecka at the 2026 ATP London Round of 16 on June 18. One of the two players will win the set by reaching 6 games first (or winning a tiebreak at 6-6).
The market resolves Yes to whichever player wins set 2 of the match. If the match does not occur before play begins due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to fair price. If postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders risking real capital on outcomes. This market may show different implied probabilities than traditional sports betting sites, particularly as new information emerges or as one player gains momentum. Comparing the two can reveal where the broader betting public disagrees with prediction market participants.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective confidence in that player winning Set 2, with higher prices indicating stronger perceived likelihood. As new trades execute, prices adjust instantly, allowing you to enter or exit positions at transparent, market-determined rates throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jun 18, 2026, once the Hijikata vs Lehecka match concludes and the Set 2 winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the second set during their match. All open positions settle based on the verified result, with winning shares paying out in full and losing shares expiring worthless.
Several factors may shift odds before resolution. Early match performance—particularly how the first set unfolds—often influences expectations for Set 2 momentum and player fatigue. Injury reports, court conditions, or weather delays can alter perceptions of each player's advantage. Real-time score updates during the match itself typically trigger sharp price moves as traders react to live developments. Pre-match news about player form, recent results, or head-to-head history may also prompt significant trading activity.
