Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margin, while prediction markets aggregate real-time beliefs from traders risking their own capital. Sportsbooks may move lines based on liability management rather than pure probability, whereas this market prices outcomes through continuous trading. Over time, prediction markets tend to incorporate information faster than traditional odds, especially as new data emerges closer to kickoff. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from professional bookmaker positioning.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell outcome shares directly from a liquidity pool. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of shares in the pool, so larger trades move the odds more dramatically than small ones. As traders deposit capital and take positions, the pool rebalances and the implied probability of each result updates in real time. This mechanism ensures continuous pricing without relying on a traditional order book, allowing you to enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes.
This market resolves around Jul 28, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the final result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals in the second half alone, independent of the first-half score. All positions settle based on the verified final second-half scoreline. Traders should monitor official match reporting and team announcements to stay informed as the resolution window approaches.
Several factors can shift odds before resolution. Team news—injuries, suspensions, or lineup changes announced before kickoff—often triggers sharp repricing as traders adjust their models. Early first-half momentum and goals can signal which side has the advantage heading into the second half, prompting position adjustments. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and tactical adjustments made at halftime all influence second-half dynamics. Late-breaking injury reports or unexpected roster decisions can also drive sudden moves. As the match progresses and the first half concludes, traders will incorporate actual performance data, potentially creating significant repricing opportunities in this market.
