Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders on Polymarket, aims to reflect the true probabilities of each outcome. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts as new information and opinions emerge, potentially revealing discrepancies between public perception and professional assessments.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. As more traders buy contracts for a specific outcome, the price of those contracts increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract represents the cost to purchase a unit that pays out a fixed amount if the corresponding outcome occurs. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust to changing expectations regarding the Rennes doubles match.
This market resolves around Sep 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
