In the upcoming EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) game between Reading FC and Brentford FC, scheduled for September 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Reading FC vs. Brentford FC match originally scheduled for September 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a significant difference emerges between the implied probability on Polymarket and sportsbook odds, it could signal that the market believes the sportsbook is mispricing a particular outcome. It’s common to see prediction markets aggregate information and expert opinions more efficiently, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities than those offered by sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders deposit funds and buy or sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each exact score. As more shares are traded, the price of each share fluctuates, reflecting the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe a specific score is likely, they will buy shares, driving up the price and increasing the implied probability of that outcome. This creates a dynamic and real-time assessment of the potential result.
This market resolves around Sep 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Reading FC versus Brentford FC match, as officially recorded by sporting authorities, will determine the winning outcome in this market. The resolution will be based on the official match result, ensuring a transparent and verifiable process. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the final, confirmed score.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the probabilities in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Reading FC or Brentford FC would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could all contribute to shifts in the market. Unexpected lineup announcements shortly before the game, or even early goals scored during the match, could also trigger substantial movement in this market as traders react to new information.
