On Polymarket, traders in the first goal scorer market price outcomes based on their expectations of match dynamics and team form. Sportsbook odds often factor in additional statistical models and broader betting market trends. While both prediction markets and sportsbooks aim to reflect true probabilities, prediction markets may show sharper shifts in response to real-time news or injury updates. The difference in pricing can highlight where Polymarket participants diverge from traditional sportsbook analysts, especially regarding which team or player is most likely to open the scoring.
