Description

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's binary Yes/Yes resolution structure does not address cancellations, ties, delays, or forfeits, while Polymarket explicitly resolves these scenarios to 50-50. This creates ambiguity in edge cases where the match does not complete with a clear winner.Hero tip: Polymarket's explicit edge-case handling (50-50 for cancellations, ties, delays beyond 7 days, and pre-match forfeits) is more protective of trader interests. If you are trading on Kalshi, assume Kalshi will follow Polymarket's precedent for non-completion scenarios. Watch for any announcement of postponement—if delayed beyond 7 days without resolution, Polymarket resolves 50-50 while Kalshi's outcome becomes uncertain.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Binary Yes/Yes structure: resolves to Yes if M80 wins OR if DarkZero Esports wins. No explicit rules for cancellations, ties, delays, or forfeits. Implicitly assumes the match will be completed with a winner.
  • Polymarket: Resolves to team name if that team wins. Explicitly resolves to 50-50 for: match canceled, tie, delay beyond 7 days without winner, or forfeit/disqualification before start. In-match forfeits or walkovers resolve to the winning team. Primary source: Liquipedia with 2-hour fallback to credible reporting.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Rainbow Six Siege match between M80 and DarkZero Esports in the North America League Stage 1 Group Stage, initially scheduled for July 2 at 3:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "M80" if M80 win the match against DarkZero Esports. This market will resolve to "DarkZero Esports" if DarkZero Esports win the match against M80. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/rainbowsix/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/rainbowsix/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like these operate on crowd-sourced probability rather than traditional sportsbook margins. Traders directly buy and sell outcome shares, meaning odds reflect aggregate belief rather than a bookmaker's vig. Sportsbooks typically embed 4–6% margin, whereas prediction markets often run tighter spreads once volume builds. For esports matchups like this one, prediction markets may react faster to roster changes, recent performance, or community sentiment than traditional books, though sportsbook lines remain useful benchmarks for comparing implied probabilities.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct regulatory frameworks, fee structures, and user bases, which naturally produces price variation. Kalshi's binary options model and Polymarket's AMM-style mechanics incentivize different trading strategies and liquidity patterns. Additionally, geographic trader distribution, platform-specific news feeds, and varying settlement rule interpretations can cause temporary divergence. These gaps typically narrow as informed traders arbitrage across venues, but real-time differences create opportunities for sophisticated participants monitoring both simultaneously.

Key catalysts include roster announcements, player injuries or substitutions, recent tournament performance, and community sentiment shifts on social media and esports forums. Patch updates to Rainbow Six Siege mechanics or map changes can alter competitive balance and shift trader expectations. Scrim results, team statements, or coaching changes may also influence odds. Additionally, betting volume spikes or large trades on either platform can trigger momentum, while expert analysis and prediction content from esports commentators frequently move prices as the match date approaches.
