This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in the final quarter of a college football game between Purdue and UCLA. It provides a way to bet specifically on the outcome of the last quarter of play, rather than the entire game. The resolution depends solely on the points scored during regulation time of the fourth quarter, excluding any overtime periods.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points during the fourth quarter (excluding overtime) of the Purdue vs UCLA college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. If UCLA scores more points in that quarter, the 'UCLA wins 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If Purdue scores more points, the 'Purdue wins 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points, the 'Tie 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. All markets remain open if the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time; if the game does not start within that window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during regulation time of the fourth quarter count, with overtime points excluded from consideration.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own analysis and information. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it may suggest the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an event occurring, and both can be influenced by new information or changing sentiment. The difference often reveals where public perception diverges from expert analysis.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s collective belief about the likelihood of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to efficiently aggregate information and provide a real-time assessment of the potential winner of the 4th quarter.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the winner of the 4th quarter of the Purdue vs UCLA game will determine the outcome. The resolution will be based on official game results as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in the market's settlement details shortly after the game concludes. This ensures a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries to key players on either Purdue or UCLA would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team performance during the game itself, such as a dominant run by one team, will also impact prices. Unexpected strategic decisions by the coaches, or even weather conditions if the game is outdoors, could also play a role. Ultimately, any information that alters perceptions of each team’s chances of winning the 4th quarter has the potential to shift the market.
