Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders, aims to reflect the true probability of an outcome. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can rapidly adjust based on new information and diverse opinions. Discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments and the influence of public sentiment.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform's design encourages accurate predictions, as traders are incentivized to correctly assess probabilities to profit from their trades. This dynamic pricing reflects the aggregated wisdom of the crowd.

This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Prylepa vs. Lyman match, as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will determine the winning outcome based on publicly available data and established procedures. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.

Several factors could influence this market leading up to Oct 3, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or unexpected performance in prior matches could significantly shift trader sentiment.
