Prediction market odds often differ from those found at traditional sportsbooks, reflecting the 'wisdom of the crowd' versus the assessments of professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks typically set initial lines to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a larger and more diverse pool of participants influencing the price. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks.
