On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each team’s likelihood of having the highest score in Week 1. As more shares are purchased for a particular team, its price increases, reflecting a higher probability. Conversely, selling shares drives the price down. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome. The market's overall volume and trading activity influence price discovery, with larger volume generally leading to more accurate probabilities.
This market resolves around Sep 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the team with the highest total points scored in Week 1 of the 2026-27 NFL regular season will be declared the winner. The final results will be sourced from official NFL game statistics. Trading on Polymarket will cease once the outcome is definitively known and verified, and shares will be settled accordingly. It's important to monitor official NFL sources for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major player injuries to key offensive players on any team would likely shift probabilities. Preseason performance, particularly in the final weeks leading up to Week 1, could also impact trader sentiment. Coaching changes or significant shifts in offensive strategies could also move the market. Unexpected news regarding team dynamics or player availability will likely cause fluctuations. Finally, any late-breaking news regarding weather conditions expected during Week 1 games could also affect predictions and trading activity on Polymarket.
