The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
These markets resolve based on the total number of goals scored in the Preston vs Blackburn professional EFL Championship soccer match scheduled for September 5, 2026. For any given market, resolution to 'Yes' occurs if the combined goals scored by both teams after 90 minutes plus stoppage time (excluding extra time or penalties) exceed the specified threshold—0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, or 5.5 goals, depending on the market. All markets share the same foundational condition: only goals scored within the standard match duration count, and Kalshi explicitly disclaims any official affiliation with the governing league or ownership of associated trademarks and branding.
Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of participants, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market is driven by real-money trading, incentivizing participants to express their genuine beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment diverges from expert opinion. It's common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, particularly in response to breaking news or unexpected events impacting the game.
