Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likely outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk assessments. It’s common to see prediction markets move more efficiently as new information becomes available, potentially offering a more accurate forecast than sportsbook lines, though this isn't always the case. Examining both can provide a well-rounded view of expectations for the PPA Women's Singles match.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or opinions.
