Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy emerges, it may indicate that the crowd perceives information differently than the sportsbook, or that one venue has a different margin built into its pricing. It’s common to see prediction markets move more quickly to incorporate new information.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a particular outcome will happen, the higher the price of its shares will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants and adjusts as new information becomes available.

This market resolves around Sep 22, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the PPA Men's Singles match, as declared by the official tournament organizers. The outcome will be determined by which player wins the match, and the market will settle to 100% for the winning player’s outcome. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout equivalent to their shareholding.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in form, or strategic adjustments could shift expectations. Unexpected results in earlier rounds of the tournament, or even weather conditions affecting play, might also cause movement. Public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can also play a role, as traders react to new information and adjust their positions accordingly. The closer we get to Sep 22, 2026, the more sensitive the market will likely become to these signals.
