On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds continuously adapt to new information and changing sentiment regarding the Portugal vs. Wales second half.
This market resolves around Sep 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on which team wins the second half of the Portugal vs. Wales match. Official results from recognized sports authorities will be used to determine the winning outcome. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the result is officially declared and verified. It's important to note that the exact timing of resolution may depend on the speed at which official results are released.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or tactical adjustments could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions during the match, or even pre-game commentary from prominent football analysts, could also play a role. Furthermore, significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could create arbitrage opportunities, prompting traders to adjust their positions in this market. Overall game performance during the first half will likely be the biggest driver of price movement.
