This event covers the total number of goals scored by both teams during the second half of the Portugal vs Spain FIFA World Cup match on July 6, 2026. Bettors can wager on whether the combined second-half goal total will exceed various thresholds.
All markets resolve based on the total goals scored by Portugal and Spain combined during the second half of their FIFA World Cup match originally scheduled for July 6, 2026. Only goals scored after halftime count toward resolution. If the match is cancelled or rescheduled to more than two weeks away, the market will resolve to a fair price in accordance with the rules. Each market threshold (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 goals) resolves to Yes if the combined second-half goal total exceeds that specific threshold.
Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and generate profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders risking real capital on their beliefs about the outcome. Prediction markets frequently incorporate information faster than sportsbooks adjust their lines, making them a useful reference point for comparing consensus expectations. However, sportsbook odds remain valuable for understanding professional bookmaker positioning and market efficiency across the betting industry.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different outcome ranges for the second-half total. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of all active traders at any given moment. As new information surfaces—team lineups, early-match momentum, or tactical shifts—traders adjust their positions, causing prices to move dynamically. This real-time pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the most current expectations available to participants.
This market resolves around Jul 6, 2026, once the Portugal vs Spain match concludes and the second-half goal total is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official final score recorded for goals scored in the second half only. Resolution occurs after the match ends and the result is confirmed through established sports reporting channels. Traders holding positions will see their outcomes settled based on the verified second-half total at that time.
Several catalysts could shift odds before this market closes. Team announcements regarding key player injuries or suspensions often trigger sharp repricing, as do official lineup confirmations closer to kickoff. Tactical previews from coaches or analyst commentary on expected playing style can influence trader positioning on goal-scoring expectations. Weather conditions, recent form trends, and any late-breaking news about squad changes will likely prompt position adjustments. Early-match momentum during the first half may also drive significant repricing as traders update their second-half projections based on observed team performance and tactical adjustments.
