In the college football matchup between Portland State and San Diego State, bettors can wager on which team will score the first touchdown of the game. The outcome depends purely on the initial scoring play, regardless of how it occurs.
The markets resolve based on which team, if any, scores the first touchdown in the Portland St. vs San Diego St. college football game originally scheduled for Sep 5, 2026. All touchdowns count, including those from offensive, defensive, or special teams plays. If the first touchdown occurs in overtime, the corresponding market resolves to Yes for that team. Should neither team score a touchdown at any point during the game, including overtime, the market titled No team scores a TD resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the official result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. On sportsbooks, you’ll typically see a spread or moneyline that reflects the sharpest betting lines from professional oddsmakers. In contrast, this market uses a collective intelligence model where traders buy and sell contracts based on their own expectations. Because of this, the pricing can diverge noticeably — especially as new game-specific data emerges, like injury reports or weather conditions. Sportsbook odds are often more conservative and slower to shift, while this market can react instantly to real-time sentiment and betting patterns.
On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Kalshi, traders determine the price through continuous bidding and offering of contracts representing each possible outcome. The current top chance reflects the aggregate belief of all participants about which team will score first, adjusted for liquidity and recent trading volume. As the game approaches, any shift in perceived momentum — from practice reports to lineup changes — can cause rapid re-pricing. The market’s design allows for quick adaptation to new information that might not be fully reflected in traditional oddsmaking yet.
This market resolves around Sep 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The first team to cross the goal line during the live game determines the result, and the market settles accordingly based on official game records.
Key catalysts include final injury updates, especially to star offensive players, and weather forecasts that might affect offensive strategies. Coaching decisions around play-calling tendencies can also shift perceptions about early-game aggression. Media analysis highlighting recent team performance trends may sway trader sentiment. As kickoff nears, any last-minute lineup announcements or warm-up performance notes could produce sharp moves. All of these factors feed into trader assessments and can cause rapid revaluation right up until Sep 6, 2026.
