Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If sportsbook odds initially favor one competitor significantly, but volume in this market suggests a closer contest, it could indicate a disagreement between professional oddsmakers and the broader public. It's common to see prediction markets converge towards the 'true' probability as the event approaches, potentially offering value compared to traditional betting options.
