Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets are driven by trader belief and real-money commitment. This market aggregates the collective forecast of thousands of independent traders betting their own capital, which can reveal insights that differ from traditional bookmaker pricing. Comparing the two can highlight where consensus opinion diverges from professional oddsmaking.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that calculates odds based on the ratio of shares held for each exact score outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As traders buy and sell shares representing different final scores, the price of each outcome adjusts dynamically. The current implied probability reflects the cumulative trading activity; higher prices indicate stronger market confidence in that scoreline. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, and the price discovery process ensures continuous price adjustment as new information emerges.
This market resolves around Jul 25, 2026, once the Pohang versus Jeonbuk match concludes and the final score is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact scoreline at the end of regular time; the winning prediction is the one that matches the official final result. All positions settle based on whether the exact score they represent matches the confirmed outcome, with winning traders receiving their payout and losing positions expiring worthless.
Team news—injuries to key players, lineup changes, or tactical shifts—can significantly shift odds for different scorelines. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions on match day may influence trader expectations about scoring patterns. Breaking developments such as suspensions, managerial changes, or unexpected roster announcements can trigger rapid repricing. As kickoff approaches, real-time information like confirmed starting lineups and pre-match commentary typically drives final adjustments to the odds, reflecting the market's last-minute consensus on the most likely exact scores.
