Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. If a significant discrepancy emerges between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, arbitrage opportunities may arise, potentially driving the markets closer together. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbook odds in accuracy, especially as the event approaches.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a specific outcome, the price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly adjusting as new information becomes available and traders update their assessments of the match’s potential results.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the result of the Plovdiv 3 doubles match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the tournament organizers. Shares will be redeemed based on whether the outcome predicted by the share corresponds to the actual result. It is important to note that the official result is the sole determinant for settlement, and any disputes regarding the match itself are outside the scope of this market’s resolution.
