This market tracks whether Pittsburgh and Buffalo will score more than 1.5 goals combined in their upcoming NHL game. The outcome depends on the total goals scored by both teams during regulation and overtime, with shootouts counting as one goal for the winner.
Markets resolve to Yes if Pittsburgh and Buffalo collectively score more than the specified threshold (1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 8.5 goals) in their NHL game scheduled for Sep 26, 2026. Goals from regulation and overtime count normally, while a shootout awards one goal to the winning team. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. Cancellations or failures to start within 48 hours result in fair price resolutions.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and often provide a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own analysis and information. Therefore, you may find discrepancies between the implied probabilities in this market and those offered by sportsbooks, potentially highlighting differing viewpoints on the likely outcome of the Pittsburgh vs Buffalo game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different total goal outcomes for the Pittsburgh vs Buffalo game. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, creating a real-time forecast of the event's outcome. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final total goals scored in the Pittsburgh vs Buffalo game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by the league. The market will determine which outcome – a specific total goals number – was the correct one based on the game's final score, and contracts corresponding to that outcome will pay out to their holders.
Several factors could influence the price movement in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either the Pittsburgh or Buffalo teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in goaltender matchups could also shift expectations. Furthermore, late-breaking reports on team strategies or weather conditions affecting the game could cause traders to reassess their predictions. Even general sentiment shifts, driven by analysis from sports commentators or public opinion, can contribute to fluctuations in this market leading up to Sep 26, 2026.
