Price differences between Polymarket and Predict can stem from varying user bases, liquidity levels, and trading activity. Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform’s unique pool of participants may weigh new information differently, leading to temporary misalignments. For instance, one venue might react faster to a pitching change or injury report, shifting its odds ahead of the other. These gaps often narrow as the event nears, but they offer arbitrage opportunities when they persist.
Injuries, weather delays, and last-minute lineup changes often shift this market, as they alter the perceived balance between the teams. Key starters being scratched or umpires announcing weather-related game adjustments can cause rapid swings in odds. Also, high-profile performance trends—such as a hot batter or an pitcher’s sudden dominance—may influence trader sentiment. Monitoring pre-game announcements and live updates helps users spot potential moves before they hit the board.
