This market focuses on predicting which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming professional football game between Philadelphia and Tennessee. It includes scenarios where either team scores first or if no touchdown is scored at all during the game, including any overtime periods.
The market resolves based on which team scores the first touchdown in the Philadelphia vs Tennessee Pro Football game scheduled for September 20, 2026, with specific conditions for different outcomes. If Tennessee scores the first touchdown—whether offensively, defensively, or via special teams, even in overtime—the corresponding market resolves to Yes. The same applies if Philadelphia scores first. If neither team scores a touchdown at any point in the game, including overtime, the market titled “No team scores a TD” resolves to Yes. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, the markets resolve to a fair price. Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders, aims to reflect the true probability of each outcome. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, this market can dynamically adjust as new information emerges and traders react to it. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions and risk assessments.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy 'yes' contracts if they believe a particular team will score the first touchdown and sell 'no' contracts if they believe it won’t. The price of each contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices converge to reflect the collective forecast. The closer we get to the event, the more volatile the prices may become as new information surfaces.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team that scores the first touchdown in the game will determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and reporting, ensuring an objective and transparent process. Any disputes regarding the outcome will be addressed using publicly available information to establish the definitive result.
Several factors could influence this market before the game begins. News regarding key player injuries for either Philadelphia or Tennessee would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse playing conditions, could also shift the probabilities. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team formations might also move the market. Even public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, could play a role in influencing trader behavior and adjusting the prices within this market.
