These are fundamentally different events with different resolution criteria.

In the upcoming MLB game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds, scheduled for July 8 at 7:10PM ET: This market will resolve to "Philadelphia Phillies" if the Philadelphia Phillies win the game. This market will resolve to "Cincinnati Reds" if the Cincinnati Reds win the game. If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 24 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.
Kalshi and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform operates under distinct rule sets, fee structures, and user bases, which can create temporary price gaps. Kalshi and Predict may have different liquidity depths or trader demographics, leading one venue to price the first-inning outcome more bullishly than the other. Additionally, settlement timelines and verification methods can vary subtly between platforms, causing traders to weight risk differently. These spreads typically narrow as arbitrageurs exploit the gap, but they often persist during low-volume periods or when new information emerges.
Lineup announcements, injury reports, and starting pitcher confirmations are primary catalysts that shift trader positioning before first pitch. Weather conditions—wind direction and speed at the ballpark—can significantly influence early scoring probability. Recent offensive form, bullpen availability, and head-to-head matchup history also drive repricing. Breaking news on player availability or last-minute roster moves often triggers sharp moves in this market, as traders quickly reassess the likelihood of runs scoring in the opening frame.
