Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of a diverse group of forecasters. Often, prediction markets are considered more accurate than traditional betting markets, especially when it comes to forecasting event outcomes. However, sportsbook odds can still be a useful point of comparison, providing insight into public perception and potential biases. It’s valuable to consider both when forming your own informed opinion.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome.
