This event group covers 142 individual markets, each asking whether a specific professional golfer will finish in the top 5 (including ties) at the 2026 John Deere Classic PGA Tour tournament. Resolution depends on official PGA Tour final leaderboard results, with a deadline of July 11, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed player finishes in the top 5 at the 2026 John Deere Classic tournament, including ties. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". If final results are not announced by July 11, 2026 at 8:00PM ET this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be the official results published by the PGA Tour website (https://www.pgatour.com/).
Each market resolves Yes if the named golfer finishes in the top 5 (including ties) at the 2026 John Deere Classic, and No otherwise. If a golfer forfeits or withdraws prior to teeing off, the market resolves to Fair Market Price. If a golfer forfeits or withdraws after teeing off, the market resolves to No.
Prediction markets and sportsbooks price golf outcomes using different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and extract a fixed margin, while prediction markets rely on peer-to-peer trading, where buyers and sellers negotiate prices directly. Prediction market odds often reflect sharper, more dynamic pricing because traders face real financial risk and can adjust positions instantly. However, sportsbook odds benefit from professional oddsmakers and real-time liability management. Comparing the two reveals arbitrage opportunities and helps you gauge whether consensus leans bullish or bearish on a given player's top-5 chances relative to traditional betting markets.
Polymarket and Kalshi operate under different regulatory frameworks, user bases, and liquidity profiles, which naturally creates price divergence. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts traders with distinct risk tolerances and information sets, so one may price a golfer's top-5 odds higher or lower depending on local trading activity and sentiment. Liquidity depth also varies; thinner order books on one platform can amplify short-term price swings. Monitoring both venues helps you identify mispricings and understand where smart money is positioning ahead of the tournament.
Injury reports, recent tournament form, and course-fit analysis are primary catalysts for price movement. A player's strong finish at a comparable event or announcement of withdrawal will shift odds sharply. Weather forecasts closer to the tournament date influence perceived difficulty and player equity. Media coverage of favorites and dark horses can sway retail trader sentiment. Betting syndicates repositioning large stakes ahead of the event also drive volatility. Monitoring PGA Tour news, player statements, and competing prediction markets helps you anticipate moves and time entries or exits strategically.
