Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, particularly in events where public perception differs from expert opinion. Examining these differences can be insightful, as both sources attempt to forecast the same outcome, but through distinct methodologies.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether either team will score first. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are determined solely by supply and demand within the market, with no external factors directly influencing the valuation. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the event approaches.

This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Lokomotiv Plovdiv vs. CSKA Sofia match. If the match ends without a goal being scored, the market will resolve as ‘No Goal Scored’ if that outcome was offered. The determination will rely on official match data and widely available sports news sources to ensure an accurate and transparent resolution process.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Lokomotiv Plovdiv or CSKA Sofia would likely cause significant shifts. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to heavily impact the style of play, could also move the market. Additionally, any significant pre-match analysis from reputable sports commentators or unexpected team lineup announcements could trigger trading activity and alter the probabilities reflected in this market.
