Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' perspective, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines to balance action on both sides and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on individuals freely trading based on their own assessments. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, especially when there’s significant public information available. However, sportsbook odds can still provide a useful benchmark for comparison, and discrepancies may present arbitrage opportunities for informed traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom. The current implied probability of a particular outcome is determined by the share price relative to $1, with prices above $0.50 indicating a higher likelihood.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
