This group forecasts the outcome of a soccer match between Peterborough United FC and Barnsley FC scheduled for September 15, 2026. Markets exist for Peterborough winning, Barnsley winning, or the match ending in a draw. Resolution relies on official match statistics, with fallback sources specified.
This event is for the upcoming EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) game, scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2026 between Peterborough United FC and Barnsley FC.
The markets collectively determine the result of the Peterborough vs Barnsley EFL Cup soccer match scheduled for September 15, 2026, strictly after 90 minutes of regulation time plus stoppage time, with no consideration for extra time or penalty shootouts. If Peterborough wins within this timeframe, the 'Peterborough' market resolves to Yes. If Barnsley achieves a win under the same conditions, the 'Barnsley' market resolves to Yes. Should the match conclude in a tie after regulation and stoppage time, the 'Tie' market resolves to Yes. In the event the game is cancelled or rescheduled to more than 48 hours beyond the original date, all markets will resolve to a fair price as determined by the platform’s rules. These conditions ensure that only the outcome within the standard match duration is considered for resolution.
This market resolves to "YES" if the listed club wins after 90 minutes plus stoppage time, excluding extra time and penalty shootouts, in the match scheduled for September 15, 2026, 18:45 UTC. Otherwise, it will resolve to "NO." If the match is postponed, this market will remain open until the match has been completed. If the match is not completed as scheduled for any reason (for example, if it is abandoned, canceled, or awarded), and an official final result is recognized by the governing body or event organizers, this market will resolve based on that result. If no official final result is recognized and no make-up match is scheduled, this market will resolve "NO." Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the differing incentives and information sources involved. Sportsbooks set odds to maximize profit, factoring in a margin for themselves, while prediction markets are driven by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. This market reflects the aggregated beliefs of participants, potentially revealing insights not captured by sportsbooks. Discrepancies can also arise from differing levels of liquidity and the speed at which information is incorporated into the odds.
