Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, with this market potentially offering more favorable odds depending on how the crowd evaluates the competitors. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks in accuracy, as they aggregate diverse opinions and incentivize informed trading. However, sportsbook odds still represent a valuable benchmark for comparison, reflecting the views of professional oddsmakers and the broader betting public.
