Prediction market odds reflect real-money trading by informed participants and often diverge meaningfully from traditional analyst forecasts. While sports analysts rely on statistical models and expert judgment, this market aggregates the financial commitments of many traders who face direct consequences for accuracy. Analyst predictions tend to be published at discrete intervals, whereas market odds update continuously as new information emerges. Over time, prediction markets have demonstrated competitive or superior accuracy compared to expert consensus, particularly when the crowd includes specialists with deep domain knowledge.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where buyers and sellers submit bids and offers on the second-half spread outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price you see represents the last executed trade, and you can place limit or market orders to enter or exit your position. Kalshi's pricing model ensures transparency: all trades are matched at the best available price, and the spread between bid and offer reflects current liquidity and disagreement among traders about the likely outcome.
