Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and profit margins, while prediction markets are driven purely by trader consensus and real-money risk. This market aggregates the views of many independent traders wagering their own capital, which can reveal information gaps or contrarian views that traditional sportsbooks may miss. Comparing the two can highlight where public perception and market pricing differ most significantly.
On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probabilities. As traders buy or sell shares representing each outcome, the price adjusts dynamically to reflect the current balance of capital wagered on each side. The market price at any moment represents the collective belief of all participants about the likelihood of the second half result. Deeper liquidity typically narrows the spread between buy and sell prices, making it easier for traders to enter and exit positions.
This market resolves around Jul 30, 2026, once the second half of the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which team scores more goals in the second half alone, independent of the first-half score. Traders should monitor official match reporting and league announcements to confirm the final second-half result. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle, allowing quick settlement of positions.
Key catalysts for this market include team news, injury updates, and tactical announcements leading up to kickoff. Early first-half momentum and goals can shift second-half expectations significantly, as trailing teams may adopt more aggressive strategies while leaders may consolidate. Red cards, substitutions, and halftime adjustments by either manager will influence trader positioning once the match begins. Weather conditions, crowd atmosphere, and unexpected tactical shifts during play can also trigger sharp price movements as traders reassess the likelihood of scoring in the second half.
