Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market's odds represent consensus expectations from thousands of independent traders rather than a single operator's margin. Comparing this market's implied probability to major sportsbook lines can reveal where professional bettors and decentralized traders disagree on the second half outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the ratio of shares held in the liquidity pool, with prices shifting as traders adjust their positions. Higher trading activity typically narrows spreads and improves price efficiency, allowing participants to enter or exit positions with lower slippage on the second half result.
This market resolves around Jul 30, 2026, once the match concludes and the second half result is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will reflect which team wins during the second half period, or whether the half ends in a draw. Resolution occurs after official confirmation, ensuring all trades are final and payouts are distributed to holders of the winning outcome shares.
Team news such as injuries, lineup changes, or tactical adjustments announced before kickoff can shift odds significantly. In-game events during the first half—including goals, red cards, or momentum swings—often influence second half expectations as traders reassess each team's likelihood of success. Weather conditions, recent form, and head-to-head history may also influence trader positioning. As the match progresses and new information emerges, this market will reprice to reflect updated expectations for the second half outcome.
