Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a large number of traders believe an outcome is more likely than implied by sportsbook odds, the price in this market will shift accordingly. This can lead to discrepancies, with prediction markets sometimes offering more favorable odds, particularly when there is disagreement between the crowd and the sportsbook. It’s a good way to compare public sentiment to professional odds-making.

The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now.
