PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's market is logically contradictory: it resolves Yes regardless of which team wins, making it impossible to express a directional view on the match outcome. Polymarket provides four distinct, resolvable markets with consistent edge-case handling.Hero tip: Treat Kalshi as a cancellation/no-play bet only. All competitive outcomes (ZETA DIVISION win or T1 win) resolve to Yes, so the market has zero discriminative power. Use Polymarket for all directional match outcome trading.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Four separate markets with granular resolution: Game 1 Winner, Game 2 Winner, Games Total O/U 2.5, and Series Winner. Each resolves based on completed games, with 50-50 fallback for cancellations, delays beyond 7 days, or incomplete games. Primary source: Liquipedia with 2-hour credible reporting fallback. Key quote: 'If the match is canceled (not played at all) or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without play beginning, this market will resolve 50-50.'
  • Kalshi: Single binary market that resolves Yes if ZETA DIVISION wins OR if T1 wins. No distinction between outcomes. Logically contradictory: both teams winning produces identical resolution (Yes), making the market unable to express directional competitive views. Key quote: 'If ZETA DIVISION wins...then the market resolves to Yes. If T1 wins...then the market resolves to Yes.'
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Overwatch match between ZETA DIVISION and T1 in the OCS Korea Stage 2 Seeding Decider, initially scheduled for July 3 at 7:00AM ET. This market will resolve to "ZETA DIVISION" if ZETA DIVISION win the match against T1. This market will resolve to "T1" if T1 win the match against ZETA DIVISION. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/overwatch/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/overwatch/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by the outcome of the OCS Korea Stage 2 2026 match between T1 and ZETA DIVISION on July 3, 2026. The market resolves to Yes for whichever team wins the match. If neither team wins (draw, cancellation, or other non-decisive outcome), resolution rules not specified here would apply.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like those tracked here operate on a fundamentally different model than traditional sportsbooks. Rather than a bookmaker setting fixed lines, traders themselves determine prices through continuous buying and selling, which often reflects sharper, more dynamic probability estimates. Sportsbooks typically build in larger margins and may adjust lines more slowly. Prediction market odds can sometimes diverge significantly from sportsbook spreads because they aggregate dispersed information from many participants without the same profit-margin constraints, potentially offering more efficient pricing for informed bettors.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics, liquidity pools, and fee structures, which naturally produces price variation. Polymarket and Kalshi may also frame identical outcomes slightly differently—for example, one focusing on match winner while the other emphasizes a specific game result—leading to apparent divergence even when the underlying event is the same. Arbitrage opportunities and timing lags between platforms can also cause temporary spreads. Comparing both prices gives you a fuller picture of market sentiment across the prediction ecosystem.

Key catalysts include roster announcements or player substitutions for either team, recent match results and win streaks, head-to-head historical records, and any public statements about team strategy or preparation. Injury or availability updates, coaching changes, and performance in preceding OCS Korea stages could all shift trader conviction. Scrimmage results or community sentiment shifts may also influence prices. Additionally, meta shifts in Overwatch patches or map rotations announced before the match could alter perceived team advantages and trigger significant repricing.
