PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi's market contains a logical contradiction (both outcomes resolve to Yes) and lacks granular game-level definitions. Polymarket provides four distinct, resolvable markets with comprehensive edge-case logic and a clear resolution source hierarchy.Hero tip: Kalshi's market is fundamentally unresolvable due to logical contradiction. Use only Polymarket's four markets for trading and settlement. Always verify Liquipedia publication within 2 hours post-match; escalate to credible reporting consensus if Liquipedia is delayed.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Market definition states: 'If Virtus.pro wins... resolves to Yes. If Geekay Esports wins... resolves to Yes.' This creates a logical impossibility where both mutually exclusive outcomes map to the same resolution state, rendering the market unresolvable. No edge-case handling, no game-level granularity, and no explicit source is provided.
  • Polymarket: Four separate, well-defined markets: (1) Game 1 Winner (Virtus.pro or Geekay Esports), (2) Game 2 Winner (Virtus.pro or Geekay Esports), (3) Match Winner BO3 (Virtus.pro or Geekay Esports), (4) Games Total O/U 2.5 (Over if 3+ games, Under if fewer). Each includes explicit handling of cancellations, delays beyond 7 days, forfeits, disqualifications, walkovers, incomplete matches, and ties. Primary source: Liquipedia (https://liquipedia.net/overwatch/Main_Page) with 2-hour publication window; fallback to credible reporting and video evidence.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Overwatch match between Virtus.pro and Geekay Esports in the OCS EMEA Stage 2 Group Stage, initially scheduled for June 14 at 4:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "Virtus.pro" if Virtus.pro win the match against Geekay Esports. This market will resolve to "Geekay Esports" if Geekay Esports win the match against Virtus.pro. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/overwatch/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/overwatch/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like those tracked here operate on peer-to-peer pricing rather than traditional sportsbook models. Traders set odds directly by buying and selling contracts, which often reflects sharper, less-regulated consensus than fixed sportsbook lines. Prediction markets can move faster in response to roster changes, player injuries, or public sentiment, and they typically lack the margin built into sportsbook odds. However, sportsbooks may offer tighter liquidity on major esports events, so comparing both sources helps identify mispriced outcomes before this market settles.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts different trader demographics and uses distinct contract structures. Kalshi's binary yes/no format on match outcome differs fundamentally from Polymarket's over/under games total, meaning they're pricing related but distinct questions. Liquidity, regulatory constraints, and fee structures also vary between platforms, causing temporary price gaps. Arbitrage-minded traders can exploit these spreads, though transaction costs and settlement timing differences often prevent perfect convergence. Monitoring both simultaneously reveals which market is pricing the event more efficiently.

Key catalysts include roster announcements, player substitutions, or injury disclosures affecting either team's competitive readiness. Recent tournament results, head-to-head records, and scrim performance leaks often shift trader sentiment significantly. Meta shifts in Overwatch patches or hero balance changes can favor one team's playstyle over another, triggering repricing. Media coverage, expert predictions, and community sentiment on social platforms also influence odds. Finally, any official statements about match format, timing delays, or bracket changes could create volatility in this market before the series begins.
