PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi provides minimal forfeit/walkover guidance and treats any match completion as a Yes resolution, while Polymarket distinguishes between completed matches (resolves to winner), incomplete matches with forfeit (resolves 50-50 for BO3/Games Total, but 50-50 for individual games if not played), and pre-match forfeits (resolves 50-50 across all markets).Hero tip: Assume Polymarket's granular rules are the operational standard. Key risk: if the match begins but one team forfeits mid-series, Kalshi likely resolves Yes to the winning team, but Polymarket BO3 and Games Total resolve 50-50. If a forfeit occurs before any game is played, all platforms resolve 50-50. Verify match completion status and forfeit timing against Liquipedia within 2 hours of event conclusion.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Binary Yes/No structure: resolves Yes if Spacestation Gaming or Dallas Fuel wins the match scheduled for Jun 13, 2026. No explicit handling of forfeits, walkovers, ties, or incomplete matches. Implicitly treats any match outcome as Yes.
  • Polymarket: Four distinct markets with layered rules: (1) Match Winner (BO3) resolves 50-50 on forfeit/walkover/tie or if delayed >7 days; (2) Game 1/2 Winners resolve 50-50 if not completed; (3) Games Total (O/U 2.5) counts forfeits if match completes, but resolves 50-50 if match begins but is not completed due to forfeit; (4) All resolve 50-50 if match is canceled or delayed >7 days without play beginning. Key quote: 'If the match ends due to the clinching game being forfeited this will count as a completed match' (Games Total only).
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the Overwatch match between Dallas Fuel and Spacestation Gaming in the OCS North America Stage 2 Group Stage, initially scheduled for June 13 at 4:00PM ET. This market will resolve to "Dallas Fuel" if Dallas Fuel win the match against Spacestation Gaming. This market will resolve to "Spacestation Gaming" if Spacestation Gaming win the match against Dallas Fuel. If the match is canceled (not played at all), ends in a tie, or is delayed beyond 7 days from the scheduled date without a winner determined, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://liquipedia.net/overwatch/Main_Page. However, if https://liquipedia.net/overwatch/Main_Page has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi differ from traditional sportsbooks in that traders themselves set prices through supply and demand rather than oddsmakers. This crowdsourced pricing often reflects sharper, more granular information—especially in niche esports events where sportsbook coverage is limited. Prediction market odds tend to adjust faster to breaking news and can offer better value for informed bettors, though liquidity and available markets vary by platform and event.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Kalshi and Polymarket serve different trader bases and operate under distinct regulatory frameworks, leading to price divergence. Kalshi's focus on match-winner outcomes attracts bettors seeking binary exposure, while Polymarket's emphasis on game totals appeals to those modeling series length. Liquidity depth, user demographics, and fee structures also influence how quickly each platform reprices in response to roster updates or recent team performance, creating temporary arbitrage opportunities.

Key catalysts include roster changes, player injuries, or unexpected lineup announcements from either team. Recent scrim results, patch updates to Overwatch that shift meta strategy, and head-to-head performance trends in Stage 2 will influence trader positioning. Media coverage of team form, coaching adjustments, and any public statements about preparation intensity can also trigger repricing. Closer to the match date, warm-up match outcomes and final roster confirmations typically drive the sharpest moves in this market.
