These markets evaluate different thresholds of points scored in the second half of a college football game between Oregon State and Houston. Each threshold represents a specific point total that, if exceeded by the combined scores of both teams, determines the outcome of that particular market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the second half (excluding overtime) of the Oregon St. vs Houston college football game scheduled for Sep 5, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold; if the combined second-half points exceed that threshold, the market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, it remains active and resolves based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count, and overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set opening lines based on their own models and attempt to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or weather forecasts – both prediction markets and sportsbooks adjust their odds. However, prediction markets often demonstrate greater accuracy in forecasting event outcomes, especially as the event approaches, because they continually incorporate new information from a diverse group of participants.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes for the Oregon State-Houston second half total. The price of each contract reflects the market's current probability assessment of that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective intelligence of the crowd. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market is constantly updating its forecast based on the latest information and sentiment.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total points scored in the second half of the Oregon State-Houston game, as officially recorded by game officials, will determine the outcome. The market will settle to 100 for the outcome that matches the actual second half total, and 0 for all other outcomes. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct outcome will receive a payout based on the contract's price at resolution.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Oregon State or Houston would likely cause price movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they affect scoring, could also influence trading activity. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could also play a role. Furthermore, significant betting action – a large influx of volume on a particular outcome – could shift the price, reflecting a change in market sentiment regarding the Oregon State-Houston second half total.
