Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, whereas prediction markets are driven purely by trader conviction and supply-and-demand dynamics. In this market, traders are betting real capital on the exact scoreline, which can make prediction market prices more responsive to emerging information and less constrained by commercial margins. Comparing the two can reveal where public sentiment or analytical consensus differs from traditional oddsmakers, though both should be viewed as estimates rather than certainties.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that allows traders to buy or sell shares in each exact scoreline outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome's price reflects the cumulative bets placed on it; as more traders back a particular scoreline, its price rises, and vice versa. The cost to buy a share in any outcome is determined by the AMM's pricing curve, which adjusts dynamically based on the pool's composition. This mechanism ensures continuous liquidity and transparent, real-time pricing for all possible exact scores throughout the trading window.
This market resolves around Jul 27, 2026, once the match concludes and the final scoreline is confirmed. The outcome is determined by the official final score reported by credible public sources covering the event. Traders holding shares in the correct exact scoreline will receive their payout, while incorrect predictions expire worthless. The resolution process is straightforward: the market simply verifies the actual result against verified reporting and settles accordingly.
Several catalysts can shift odds in this market before kickoff and during the match. Team news—injuries to key players, lineup announcements, or tactical changes—often triggers repricing as traders reassess which scorelines are most likely. Pre-match analysis, recent form, and head-to-head history can also influence sentiment. Once the match begins, live scoring will drive sharp movements; early goals or red cards can dramatically alter the probability of certain exact outcomes. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and last-minute roster updates may also prompt traders to adjust their positions as new information becomes available.
