This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Oklahoma and Michigan. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined in that specific quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the designated game. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each market. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the actual result. If the game does not start within this window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during regulation 4th quarter play count; overtime points are excluded from all resolutions.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small group of experts, while this market aggregates the views of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before significant events or when there’s a lot of uncertainty. These differences can arise from varying levels of information, biases, or simply different interpretations of the available data. Comparing the two can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the potential outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about whether the total points scored in the 4th quarter will be over or under a certain threshold. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, with higher prices indicating a greater probability of the event occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the market believes is the true probability of the outcome. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the fourth quarter of the Oklahoma vs Michigan game will be used to determine whether the total points scored fall above or below the threshold established by the market. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be verified against credible public sources. Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout, while those on the losing side will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Oklahoma or Michigan would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions unfavorable for scoring, could also impact trading activity. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale might also play a role. Furthermore, large volume trades from informed participants could shift the price, and as the game approaches, even public sentiment and betting trends in sportsbooks could influence how traders position themselves in this market.
