This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in the second half of an upcoming college football game between Oklahoma and Georgia. It provides a way to speculate on the momentum and performance of each team after halftime, reflecting how the game might unfold in its latter stages.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the second half (including overtime) of the Oklahoma vs Georgia college football game originally scheduled for September 26, 2026. If Georgia scores more second-half points, the 'Georgia wins 2nd Half' market resolves to Yes. If Oklahoma scores more second-half points, the 'Oklahoma wins 2nd Half' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points in the second half (including overtime), the 'Tie 2nd Half' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the second half count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. It’s common to see differences emerge as new information becomes available or as public sentiment shifts. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, potentially leading to more accurate predictions as the event approaches. However, both sources can provide valuable insights.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. These prices can fluctuate significantly based on news, injuries, or changes in public perception. Traders aim to profit by buying contracts they believe are undervalued and selling them when they believe they are overvalued.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team is declared the winner of the second half of the Oklahoma vs Georgia game. The official result, as reported by the governing body of college football, will be used to determine the winning contract. Traders will be able to see the final outcome reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes and the result is officially verified.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Oklahoma or Georgia would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game's style of play, could also shift probabilities. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team morale might also affect trader sentiment. Finally, large-volume trades from informed participants could create momentum in one direction or another, impacting the price of contracts in this market.
